Iao Needle

One day we thought we would go on a little hike. We asked around and everyone recommended hiking to the Iao Needle. The sign at the base says that if you take the long route and go up the 133 steps it should take you half an hour. That came as a bit of a shock to us since we thought it would be a little bit longer but we figured it was a nice day and the path was nicely paved for strollers, why not go ahead. It took us about 10 minutes and five of those minutes were without the strollers!!!

At the base before the long flight of stairs to the top...
We really lucked out with the weather at this area is notorious for cloud and rain.

Perfect family picture:)

It was a bit breezy as you can tell by the girls' and Grandpa's hair do's...

Happy Sadie and a typical 'Lindsay' look! The sweater just makes Sadie's eye look so blue:)

The two guys decided to do some 'artistic' photo taking and these next few pictures were some of those...

I like the almost puzzled look, although I don't blame her. I think this was after a few minutes of Papa Max trying to get the right shot!

This peak is known as the phallic stone of Kanaloa, Hawaiian god of the ocean. So I think it was really funny that this was recommended to us.

And then artistic Max decided to try so more artsy photos...Any guesses as to what this is?
We did enjoy the hike and Sophia quite liked that she could 'hike' most of it. Maybe next time we will try something that lasts a little longer:)
