Long weekend at the cabin

Since we know the people we bought the cabin from, they let us go out there for the long weekend (we technically get posession June 19). The weather was great, although on the Friday there was still ice floating in the lake. We planted a garden (mostly Lindsay and Sophia) and did a bunch of the spring cleaning (mostly the ladies as the guys went golfing). It was so nice and relaxing!

Sophia really wanted to wear her rain boots. They didn't last too long. At one point she ran right out of one and kept on going. It took us a fair bit of scrubbing to clean off her feet...

Sophia thought that Sadie should wear sunnies too. They fit her around the sides but Sadie's nose is a bit small to hold them up too long.

Sophia has a bit of a fear of loud noises. She doesn't like hearing trucks, tractors, quads or motorbikes. We thought we would let her drive the Rhino to help her get past the noise. She did a great job (with a little bit of help from me). She now knows how to climb onto the seat and almost turn it on! Yikes!

The guys were trying to ride a unicyle, without much luck. Sophia thought she would give it a go and did a great job.

Sophia figured that since we were all taking a turn on Tyson's bike she needed to ride as well. She actually climbed up the bike, almost to the seat without any help.

Sadie always has a smile for us or anyone that will talk to her. I love that her and Sophia are the exact opposite in terms of color. Sadie has gorgeous blue eyes and pale skin and Sophia has brown eyes with olive skin.

The way the light hits both Sadie and Tyson makes them look so calm and peaceful.

One of the many looks in Sophia's repertoire.

The purple hat makes Sadie's blue eyes look even more blue!

We gave Sophia a small spade to help plant with. She really liked taking the dirt out of the pot and sprinkling it onto the ground.

Mmmm, strawberries.

We taught Sophia to water all the plants. We will fill up a watering can and she will run around to all of the plants and water them. Yeah, no more needing to water for me!
