Calaway Park

Last week, we got out to Calaway Park, twice!  Since we hadn't yet made it here this year, Sophia was very excited.  Even more excited because our first trip was with her best friend Bella, whom we hadn't seen since the end of school in June!  The girls were so happy to see one another and held hands everywhere they could:)

This drop ride, is one of Bella's favorites. Sophia was very nervous to go on but she made it through the whole ride.  Her comment after was that the ride made her stomach 'sad.'  Hmmm....She would never have gone on this if Bella hadn't wanted to go, and of course she didn't want Mom to go with her. (When we came back two days later, Sophia was very excited to go on again, without Mom but with Aunty Lindsay).

 Our second trip was with Lindsay and Sadie.  It was a great 'girls only' day and the kids were so well behaved!  They were happy as can be and listened so well.  After lunch, we decided to try the log ride.  Sophia had ridden two days prior with Bella and I so she was all for going.  Sadie had previously waited in line for this with her Mom and cousin Madison but right before they were to get on, Sadie decided she didn't want to go.  Here we are, trying to convince her to go and since she looks happy she was having a yes moment.

 ...but were waiting for a 'freak out' moment...

 ...which did come just as we were about to go up to the top of the second slide.  I thought Sadie was going to try to hop right out of the log at one point.  Thankfully it didn't last long and by the time we were at the top, she was happy again.

 Here are the two girls, mostly soaked, after the ride!   We were all so proud of Sadie who decided afterwards that she did like the ride, but didn't want to go on it again.  She kept telling us all that she was completely soaked.  'Aunty, my hair is soaked, my back is soaked, I am just soaked!'  What was even funnier, when we hit the water, Lindsay slammed into Sophia, I slammed into Sadie and completely covered her!  I think her legs were the only thing that got wet, but hey, I am proud of her no matter what she says!!!

Soaking wet Sophia.  She definitely took the splash from the rest of us.  We were all wet but not quite like this.  Thankfully it was a nice warm day!

Since it was Sadie's first go, after lots of coaxing, we thought we would buy the photo taken while we were going down the big slide.  I love that Lindsay looks the most frightened and you can hardly see Sadie!  What a great couple of days, awesome company and great weather.
